The Background on Raindrop Therapy

The Raindrop Technique (RT), developed by researcher and essential oil expert D. Gary Young, has received an enormous amount of praise from users around the world for its ability to help ameliorate spinal abnormalities (scoliosis and kyphosis) and facilitates tissue cleansing.

It is a powerful, non-invasive tool for assisting the body in correcting defects in the curvature of the spine. During the years that it has been practiced, it has resolved numerous cases of scoliosis and kyphosis and eliminated the need for back surgery for thousands of people. It integrates Vita Flex and massage, with the power of essential oils in bringing the body into structural and electrical alignment. Raindrop Technique (RT) is based on the Theory that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. These pathogens create inflammation, which, in turn, contorts and disfugures the spinal column.

This use of essential oils in Raindrop Technique closely follows the French model for essential oil use-which is the most extensively practiced and studied model in the world. With over 40 years experience of using essential oils clinically, the French have consistently recommended the neat (undiluted) use of essential oils.

The Raindrop Techinque

Raindrop Technique uses a sequence of highly antimicrobial essential oils designed to simultaneously reduce inflammation and kill the responsible viral agents. The oils are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches above the back muscles. Although the entire process takes about 45 minutes to complete, the oils will continue to work in the body for up to one week following treatment, with continued re-alignment taking place during this time.

Using only the purist essential oils, Raindrop Therapy gently detoxifies the body and alignes the spine. All your senses are enveloped, leaving you completely relaxed and ready to deal with the stresses of today’s world.

The Raindrop Technique is not a cure-all or a magic bullet. A healthy balanced body is the result of a well-rounded program of exercise and proper diet. Health is everything we do, say, hear, see, and eat. The Raindrop Technique is only one tool to help restore balance in the body that will relult in good health.

What is an Essential Oil?

Essential oils are aromatic volitale liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. Vegetable oils can become oxidized and rencid over time and are not antibacterial. Essential oils on the other hand cannot go rancid and are powerful antimicrobials.

They are chemically very complex, consisting of hundreds of different chemical compounds. Moreover, they are highly concentrated and far more potent than dried herbs. The distillation process is what makes essential oils so concentrated. It often requires an entire plant or more to produce a single drop of distilled essential oil.

Essential oils are also different from vegetable oils, such as corn oil, peanut oil, and olive oil. They are not greasy and do not clog the pores like many vegetable oils can.

How to Be Sure Your Essential Oils are Therapeutic Grade

  • Are the fragrances subtle, rich, organic, and delicate? Do they “feel” natural?
  • Do the fragrances of your oils vary from batch to batch as an indication that they are pure and painstakingly distilled in small batches rather than industrially processed on a large scale?
  • Does your supplier send each batch of essential oils it receives through up to five different analyses before it is released?
  • Are thes tests performed by independent labs?
  • Does your supplier grow and distill its own organically grown herbs? Are the distillation facilites part of the farm where the herbs are grown so they are freshly distilled, maintaining their potency?
  • Does your supplier us low pressure and low temperature to distill essential oils and preserve all of their fragile chemicl constituents? Are the distillation cookers fabricated from costly stainless steel alloyes to reduce the likelihood of the oils chemically reacting with metel?
  • Does your supplier have representatives traveling worldwide to personally inspect the fields and distilleries where the herbs are grown and distilled?
  • Do they scrutinize the facilities to check that no synthetic chemicals are being used in any of these processes? For more information on Young Living Essential Oils, training in Raindrop therapy, or other questions please contact
